Good advice. I like to change things a lot. I always try to sit in different spots anyway. I will try to influence others to do the same since you have pointed out that there is some science behind memory and different locations. We do some long meetings over lunch and bring in the same stuff everytime, maybe I will suggest that we change the menu now and then. Maybe there is something about memory and food like there is about memory and location.

Very imporant advice for board rooms! The most effective nonprofit boards I work with are the ones whose members agree to change seats each meeting and then do so. Change your perspective and change your perceptions!

Nice post Jamie.
I had a teacher who insisted that we change seats each class. Otherwise those eager to learn always sat upfront and those who didn't want to speak up or be seen sat at the back. It was a valuable lesson in not getting into a mental rut of sitting in the same place with the same attitude and same perspective.
This maybe be more important for board rooms than for class rooms.
